Or, meet me at Good Form’s upcoming MAKERS MARKET, 11–12 October, Tāmaki Makaurau, I will have these prints and more. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Each print is unique in that the red oil pastel ‘A’ is hand-drawn atop the print. The images are representative of the mark-making that occurs.
A note on the work: The »GAZ/A« series came about late 2023 and 2024, when I documented (collected through the camera) cast iron gaz (French for ‘gas’) sidewalk covers, seen throughout the streets of Paris and environs. The resulting concertina work features 80 photographs of the GAZ covers with the letter ‘A’ hand-drawn in red oil pastel atop each image. Seen together they form a poignant and prolonged meditation on the widely condemned atrocities being committed by the Zionist entity in Palestine. »GAZ/A« scrutinizes “Israel’s premeditated intentions to displace the Palestinians from their historical lands and confiscate their natural resources.” — Walid Abuhelal, “The War on Gaza is also an Israeli drive to seize Palestinian gas reserves”, Middle East Eye, 20 February 2024. A selection of 18 hand-marked, signed prints from the concertina work have been made available for purchase. In June 2025, and on my behalf, Enjoy Contemporary Art Space donated $2000 from the first fundraiser that we held together during my exhibition, »Iterations/Alterations«, early 2025. Since then, a further two donations have been made. Continuing the fundraiser, I offer the prints above, and will have these same prints available at Good Form’s upcoming MAKERS MARKET 11-12 October, Tāmaki Makaurau — do visit.
